The Calgary International Spoken Word Festival and SpoCan are thrilled to be gearing up to host Canada’s top slam poets that will be coming in November!

will fly into Calgaria to share their words and beats during five action-packed days of workshops, discussion, and high-octane head-to-head bouts of 3-minute poems – until a winning team is crowned on the 8th of November.
Spoken Word heavyweights: Moe Clark, shayne avec i grec, Clifton Joseph, D. Kimm, Sean McGarragle, Dwayne Morgan, Sarah Murphy, David Silverberg, Andrea Thompson, R.C. Weslowski, and Sheri-D Wilson will headline events, slam master and lead workshops throughout the week.
Calgary’s own Sarah Murphy, 2008 Golden Beret winner, will open the celebrations on November 5th with the launch of her long-anticipated spoken word CD, when bill danced the war.
